We live in semi-rural NSW on acreage.
We are a small in-home breeder of French Bulldogs. We breed short and long hair Frenchie's. Our Frenchie's are our babies and a huge part of our daily life.
We love our Frenchie's so much and our mission is to help improve the breed. Frenchie's get a fairly bad wrap health wise, and this is not always the case. You can get healthier Frenchie's with some research.

ADAMTS3 does not affect breathing as such but does increase the soft tissue in the throat which can make surgeries and coming out of surgeries a lot harder.
​
How we intend to improve the breed: It is well known Frenchie's can have breathing issues. This can be down to a few issues, ADAMTS3 gene (when the dog carries 2 copies of this gene), face structure, closed up nares, extremely short snout and in more recent times it has been found that the 2x screw tail gene is also a reason for their face structure and breathing issues.

Here at Fancy Paws, we are working towards eliminating some of these genes and attributes to help the health and breathing of our beloved Frenchie's.

Our aim in short term is to have all our Frenchie pups ADAMTS3 clear (pups that do carry just one copy of ADAMTS3 are not affected as they need 2 of the ADAMTS3 genes to be affected). Pups that do carry 1 copy of the ADAMTS3 gene will only be sold as pups and will come with a contract to be desexed.

Already within our program we have 0 babes with 2x copies of the ADAMTS3 gene and we would never breed one of our babes that are a carrier with another carrier. That would be harmful to the pup's health.

We are very careful with the girls and boys we welcome into our program. Ensuring open nares and great breathing as well as amazing temperament.

Why is it so important to have your Frenchie pups DNA tested?
Over the years we have all seen the bad wrap French Bulldogs get for health. DNA testing can help you know what you are getting and if they carry or have and genes associated with bad health.

All our pups are 5 panel health clear and ADAMTS 3 CLEAR.
